Latin-Grammy nominated and winner of the 2023 Herb Alpert ASCAP Jazz Composer Competition, of the North American Saxophone Alliance Jazz Competition and of the Downbeat College Award, Nicola Caminiti is a New York based Italian Saxophonist, Composer, Arranger and Educator.
Praised as "clearly a name to watch" by All About Jazz, Nicola is considered one of the leading musical figures among his generation for his intensely creative modern concepts based on interplay and rhythmic mastery, still embracing a sense of musical tradition.
He has performed in various international jazz festivals and clubs such as Blue Note, Birdland, The Jazz Gallery, Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola at Lincoln Center, JALC in Times Square, Black Cat in SF, Umbria Jazz, Venezia Jazz, Vicenza Jazz, the Italian Cultural Institute in Bruxelles, Malta Jazz Festival, Eivissa Jazz and Jimmy Glass to name few.
